Dave’s belief is that innovation should be a force for good in the world and a fundamental discipline and growth engine in business and society.
He also feels strongly that winning teams and organsiations are ones that fuse the spirit, pace and experimental capacity of a start up with the scale, influence and reach of a giant organisation.
He likes to quote Margret Meade, who rather eloquently stated:
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”
Based in London, Dave sits on the ?! global board. Day to day his time is spent with clients working across all aspects of their innovation agenda. Recent work includes re-shaping the future of gaming, transforming innovation delivery in consumer goods and building an innovation university.
A luddite in earlier life, Dave’s digital epiphany has seen him champion What if’s partnership with Amazon Web Services, the world’s largest web services provider and Equal Experts, Europe’s fastest growing software builder. Together with ?What if! this team can create, incubate, build and scale new digital businesses in months.
Beyond ?! Dave is an angel investor. He has worked with start ups in events, retail, healthcare, finance and technology and the entrepreneurs within What If’s social foundation. These experiences mean Dave’s advice is grounded in the reality of success and failure, not the theory of innovation.
Dave lives near Bath with an artist wife and two precocious 13 year-old boys, who rate his slight involvement with the creation of KFC Chicken popcorn as his most useful innovation to date.
Back to people
The ?! moment I’ve felt the most Passion:
When the CEO of one of the world’s great consumer brands said, “I love coming into your building Dave, because when I do, I believe great things are possible.”
