Case Stories
Ventures
Ventures' main focus is on creating and delivering new growth opportunities for clients via some form of partnership, but we will also work alongside one or two entrepreneurs every year to develop start-up or early stage businesses.
The benefit to clients is that we can operate outside their existing structures to deliver new growth opportunities better and faster and with a lower risk profile. This is most often appropriate in areas outside their current competencies or in the early stages of growth where the clients existing organisation struggles to cope.
The team operates as a separate team from the inventing business and has a separate management structure.
Ventures combines the following unique skills:
- The innovation expertise of ?What If!
- A network of high calibre entrepreneurs and operators
- Investment and financial expertise
- Capital
The team works alongside clients on their own projects or in some cases on projects ideas developed internally within ?What If!. These could include:
- Creation of new businesses and income streams
- Reinvigoration of non-core businesses and brands
- Brokering partnerships between clients to explore and enter new markets
- Identification of hot, new, small to medium-sized businesses that could have high growth potential within an existing client's business
The Deal
We generate returns through:
- Taking a stake in the new venture
- Deal fees for introducing firms or people to each other
- Advisory Fees
