Not really knowing what to study, Joeri decided to "give Chinese a try" in a time when studying Chinese wasn't a big hype yet ("People would ask me: "Why would you study Chinese? Want to start your own restaurant?")

Upon getting his degree in Chinese for International Business, he was granted a full scholarship by the Dutch and Chinese Embassies and completed a year of International Business and Economics conducted in Chinese in Beijing.

He has been in Beijing over seven years and for the past four years, Joeri has been working in the consulting and training industry focusing on leadership development and organisational change. When not working, Joeri rocks up Beijing with his band Rage Against The Karaoke Machine.
