Blake graduated from Cornell University with a degree in Chemical Engineering and entered the food industry, working in R&D as a process engineer and formulator for Cadbury's candy and gum business.

He later moved to marketing, running several major gum brands including a year long assignment in São Paulo, Brazil.

Upon returning to the US, he got his MBA at The Wharton School before entering innovation consulting. After a brief tenure at Consumer Dynamics creating products for the likes of Gillette, Diagio, and Dial, he joined ?What If! as an inventor in March, 2006.

Blake lives in New York City with his wife and two daughters, and enjoys creative writing, video gaming and beer-making.
