Matt Kingdon interview with Total Picture Radio at the Fortune Event

What if.... Business Innovation experts challenge executives at Fortune Event

How do you lead innovation at a Fortune 500 Company? Matt Kingdon, Chairman of ?What If!, plus several members of his global innovation leadership team, along with a Citibank client, brought real world, international experience in driving innovation to the Fortune Leadership Forum in New York. You can listen to a podcast from the event on the Total Picture website.

New York, NY, (PRWEB) June 16, 2007. "Death or Glory," is one of "seven nuggets of information" UK based Matt Kingdon, Chairman and Chief Enthusiast of ?What If! The Innovation Company, shared with Peter Clayton, producer/Host of the popular career radio show, Total Picture Radio, at the Fortune Leadership Forum in New York. Anne Moffat, program director of Fortune Magazine's events, told the audience she had invited the ?What If! team to present at the conference, because, "innovation is critical to leadership and growth," and ?What If! (the largest independent innovation company in the world), had an impressive track record and client roster of brand leaders, including Nike, Kraft, Unilever, Motorola, HSBC, Samsung, and AstraZeneca.

Jeff Semenchuk, EVP, Head of Growth Ventures and Innovation, Citi Global Consumer Bank, and ?WhatIf! client, discussed the strategies for launching a new product at a large, global enterprise, and how to build innovation capabilities within your team. Chuck Prince, CEO of Citigroup, has embraced Semenchuk's group and the concept of growth through organic innovation. The workshop style meeting was highly interactive, with the audience asking very specific questions relating to strategy and implementation - how to design an innovation project to achieve results. Kingdon refers to his company as a "speed boat that works with super tankers." He, and his ?What If! team, thrive on micro-innovation - the ability to take a small step, and see immediate results.

So what about "Death or Glory?" In the interview with Total Picture Radio, Matt explains "in my experience, people who lead innovation projects really well don't pull any punches, they're not afraid to point out how exciting life could be 'if we achieve what we set out to be'; but in the same sentence, calmly and rationally they can point out, 'and if we don't achieve it, these are the consequences.' " No one has ever said innovation was easy. But for those willing to challenge the status quo, to ask ?What If! business can be fun, exciting, and very rewarding!

About ?What If!
In 1992 Matt Kingdon swapped a highly paid job in Unilever for a camper van and an idea. He and co-founder Dave Allan sensed they could transform companies with innovation. They, and the camper van, proceeded to drive across the UK, delivering fresh and creative ways for businesses to grow, and leaving behind a feeling of energy and purpose. Since then, the van has gone, but ?What If! has grown beyond anything he could have imagined 15 years ago. It is now the world's largest independent innovation company with offices in Shanghai, London, Manchester, New York and Sydney.
